I read your entry and had the chance to discuss with some teachers. The key concept of the topic of Climate and Natural Vegetation is : Climate Affects determines the type of Vegetation and Vegetation Adapts to Climate
Climate affects Vegetation (i.e. type of vegetation - for example : tropical rainforest, tropical monsoon forest, coniferous forest etc..Hence, the structure of the forest, density, variety of species is not an adaptation but how the climate has influenced the vegetation.
Vegetation Adapts to Climate - how the parts of a tree differ from vegetation to vegetation is actually a form of adaptation -i.e. the unique characteristics of the flowers, fruits, leaves, bark, branches, roots is a response to temperature and rainfall pattern of that particular climate - its survival mechanism in that particular climate and also in the face of competition to propagate.
